Legend tells that Wang Xizhi, sage of calligraphy, ever raised his geese below the Yellow Crane Tower. This pond along with a stele was thus erected to commemorate the maestro. The pond you can see now extends back to 1986. In this around-600-m2 pond 210 m southeast of that tower, you can find water lilies and in particular royal water lilies. And two rockeries, in fact Taihu’s rocks, may let you feel as if wandering through a tranquil Jiangnan garden.
