This colonnade, 30 m long and 15 m high, backs against the mountain 200 m southeast of Yellow Crane Tower and 100 m southwest of White Cloud Pavilion. It is in fact a two-storey arcade that protects and preserves stone steles of all past eras.

The colonnade is home to 23 stele inscriptions of many past personages’ poems, lyrics and calligraphies: Yan Ren Qun Hua Steles (2), Mume Stele, Character Stele, Huayuan Stele, Wenlian Stele, Longevity Stele, Ancient Stele (broken stele and more than indistinct 100 characters in small regular script), Shang Shu (Book of History) Stele, Bamboo Stele, Seal Script Stele, Goose Character Stele, Tian Ya Stele, Moon-Night Stele, Red All over the River Stele, This Beautiful Land Stele, Orchid Stele, Fengju Stele, Snake Mountain Tunneling Memorial Stele, Wealth and Longevity Stele, Grand-View Stele, Peace Stele, Stele of Lü’s Poem .

Among all the steles, there are several ones worthy of special attention: stele inscribed with Li Bai’s writing “Zhuang Guan (Grand View)” imitated from the inscription at South Tower of Jining, Shandong, is romantic and fantastic like Li’s poetry; stele inscribed with Yue Fei’s far-flung Red All over the River creates an untrammeled space; stele inscribed with allegedly Wang Xizhi’s calligraphy (actually Qing scholar Men Zhenguo’s handwriting) shows off a heroic, grand vibe; stele features Peng Yulin’s sparse yet quaint mume blossoms; stele boasts Zhu Kequan’s cursive Fengju (Presenting Oranges) in the spirit of Wang Xizhi, Zhu’s couplets “Swallows flutter up and down among flowers, Butterflies leave traces hither and thither on fragrant grasses” reading like those by Huang Tingjian and quasi-Ming scroll of a vivid orchid; stele imbues the audience with sheer ingenuity by Lu Guangyu’s calligraphy Qing Ping Ru Yi (Peaceful and Serene as Expected) and another artist’s painting; stele inscribed with the solemn and steady writing of Zhang Zhidong (sobriquets Xiaoda, Xiangtao or Aficionado of Boccaro Teapots). These inscriptions are not only of high artistry, but also of great importance in Chinese calligraphy and painting researches.
