This courtyard lies on the southern slope of Snake Mountain. It is 176 m southeast of Yellow Crane Tower. The serene nook between Poem Stele Colonnade and Crane-Riding Pavilion is given this name as it was ever home to many purple bamboos. Back then it was the so-called Purple Bamboo Ridge. This traditional compound spans 1410 m2. Black tiles and white walls get in stark contrast to each other, reminding you of Ming and Qing architecture.
